Blog Post #3

When I was first asked to make a blog for One of my teaching classes in my bachelor's, I was not too thrilled. However, after working with that easily accessible and versatile platform that is blogger.com, I ended up enjoying expressing my thoughts and communicating through my other peers with blogger.com. I feel like I am on Sharktank as I pitch this website but it is a good website to use with all of your future students.

Ease of use

Like I said earlier,blogger.com is very easy to use. There are no save buttons at all, so you can throw away the anxiety that you have if you think that you didn’t save your most recent document. Everything is saved all the time. Adding pictures is never easier with the site, I can’t tell you how many times it is more difficult to apply images and pictures to Google docs. It’s actually insane how easy it is to do work on this website.

Versatility

I see blogger as a website that is used to expressed one’s feelings. I find this to be beneficial for my English classes since we will be expressing our thoughts, using critical thinking, and being open. These blogs can be used to be shared with other students or to be private but overall I want students to write. If they are more into the paper then they can write on paper, but if they prefer to type then I will suggest that blogger will be the best way for them to write.

The Overall Likelihood

Overall, I want my students to be able to write or type. And if it is going to be on a certain type of platform, that I want them to do it on the easiest and simplest piece of technology. And there’s nothing easier and more beneficial than blogger.com.

  1. Christian,
I have never had to make a blog before, so this is my first time! I can understand the appeal of it, although it feels like a lot to keep track of with so many different students' blogs. I would think having it all in one place would be easier. I also have had some difficulty with the formatting from the publishing side. It probably is an operator error, but I'm trying! Haha

  2. Jayce -- 3 must be your lucky number! :)

I enjoyed reading your post and especially appreciate your goal for students to be writing and expressing themselves and giving them method options. Some people enjoy the flow of simply using pen and paper, some may find blogger the tool of choice. This is a great example of being aware that tech is not the end goal -- student learning is!
